Year 2HC

Welcome to Year 2HC Class Page, the place for you to find out all the amazing things that have and will be happening in your class this year.

So click on each of the headings to find out more information about the given topics.

Your Class Teachers

This year you are lucky enough to have two different teachers in class.

Mrs Harbidge -  Class teacher on a Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday

Mrs Cheetham - Class teacher on a Thursday and Friday.

Supporting us in class will be Mrs Fowles, Miss Green, Mrs Harrison and Mrs Payne

PE

PE will take place every week.  Oue PE days are Monday and Wednesday.

For PE sessions please bring the following:

- Black shorts, leggings or jogging bottoms

- White t-shirt or polo shirt

- Black pumps or trainers

It is usually best to leave your child's PE kit in school for the half term so that it is always available to use.

If you are unable to provide the PE kit above, then please provide any suitable clothing for your child to do PE in. Please ensure every item is clearly labelled.

Reading

Children now have a reading folder with their reading books and record in. Reading books will be changed on a Monday and so the folder must be in their bags then.

Children will receive a Book Bag Book which matches the sounds they have been learning in their RWI class. This book should be read at least 3 times. Please let them show off their reading skills when reading this. Please do not tell your child that their reading book is too easy because it is a chance for them to build fluency and comprehension.

It is also crucial that you listen to your child read  and ensure that you sign their reading record highlighting what they have read and how they performed.

Homework

Homework will be set on a Tuesday through our online learning platform, SeeSaw. A link for which is placed below:

https://app.seesaw.me/#/login

All homework should be completed by the following Monday and will be checked by your teacher on this day. Please make sure that if you are having difficulties with the homework, that you contact your class teacher with plenty of time so that they can assist your child in its completion.

We would also encourage you to assist your child in accessing TT Rockstars and numbats to support their Maths work within school and improve their fluency.
