Thursday 16th April

Literacy

We are going to use our imagination and senses to write about and describe the gingerbread house from the story “Hansel and Gretel”.

Look carefully at the picture and think about these questions:

  • What can you see?
  • What can you smell?
  • What can you feel?
  • What can you taste?
  • What can you hear?

Choose 3 senses that you want to write about. You can write about them all if you like! Your sentences should start like this:

  • I can see…
  • I can smell…
  • I can feel...

Here are some ideas to help you!

I can see colourful lollipops.

I can smell warm and spicy gingerbead.

I can feel soft and gooey marshmallows.

soft, hard, gooey, slimy, yummy, tasty, stripy, sweet, sour, swirly

Remember to use a capital letter, finger spaces and a full stop in your sentences!

Phonics

Practice your sounds and actions!

Today we are going to look at these two sounds:

Look at the pictures in the table below. Choose one picture from the “ee” coloumn and one picture from the “ea” coloumn. Draw these pictures.

Now you need to use your phonics and have a go at sounding out and spelling the matching words. Write the words next to the pictures you have drawn and add your sound buttons to help you!

Remember, some of the words have “ee what can you see”, and some of the words have “ea cup of tea”.
