Our big question for summer term 2 is...
Who can I ask for help?
During this half-term we will be learning about all the different people who help us such as vets, fire fighters, police officers and doctors.
We started our topic off with an exciting stunning start meeting guide dogs and learning about how they help people. We will finish our topic with a trip to the Manchester Police Museum on Monday 1st July.
In Literacy we will be using the book What the Ladybird Heard as a key text. We will be doing lots of writing around the story including writing maps and writing with UV pens to write secret messages. We will be encouraging the children to write in sentences and use their phonics to sound out longer words. We will be doing lots of reading of non-fiction texts about the different people who help us, to find out what they do.
In maths we will be doing subtraction and learning how to count backwards to solve simple subtraction calculations. We will be practising our number formation and number recognition to 20 and beyond!
