Spring 2: Plants

In Spring 2, our new topic will be Plants!

In Science, we will be identifying and describing the functions of different parts of flowering plants: roots, stem/trunk, leaves and flowers. We will also be exploring the requirements of plants for life and growth (air, light, water, nutrients from soil, and room to grow) and how they vary from plant to plant. We will be investigating the way in which water is transported, by taking part in a very exciting experiment!

In Music, we will be learning all about Antonio Vivaldi and his work. We will be creating our own composition in the style of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

In Geography, we will be naming and researching main human and physical features of the UK. We will also be learning how to use 4 figure grid references and using symbols on a map of Broomwood Park.

In Art, we will be learning all about the famous artist, Georgia O’keeffe and exploring the artistic technique of weaving. We will be using different materials to weave a class flower.

In Physical Education, we will be doing tag rugby with Mr Busby, along with our class weekly runs.
