Broomwood Primary School is committed to the safeguarding of all its learners, staff and visitors. Safeguarding is a priority with arrangements in place to ensure learners feel and are safe on school premises and during off-site activities.

The learner experience and individual achievement are paramount, and safeguarding initiatives are developed to impact positively upon this. The school ensures that safeguarding legislation and guidance are adhered to and taken into account when developing and revisiting policies, procedures and associated arrangements.

The school provides a safe physical environment for its learners and staff, ensuring that the premises are of a good standard. Health and Safety arrangements are in place to ensure adherence to current legislation and guidance.

Anyone who applies for a position at Broomwood Primary will be subject to recruitment and selection procedures designed to emphasise the school’s commitment to the safeguarding of its learners and staff. The procedures include questioning at the interview stage, verification of appropriate qualifications, acquiring references, necessary safety checks and then ongoing monitoring procedures.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUB WORKER - Required from September 2026

Band 2 pt4/5 £25,583 (FTE) subject to pay increase

Actual Salary £5981-£6076

10 Hours - 3.30–5.30 – Monday to Friday

Term time only 38 weeks

Fixed term for a year with the possibility of it being made permanent

Our after-school club is much more than childcare. It is an extension of our school community where children can relax, play, develop friendships, explore new interests and finish their day feeling happy, valued and cared for.

Your role will include:

• providing high-quality care and supervision for children attending the after-school club;
• planning and leading engaging indoor and outdoor activities;
• encouraging children’s independence, confidence and social development;
• supporting children with a range of individual needs, including those with SEND;
• preparing and serving light snacks in accordance with food hygiene procedures;
• ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times;
• working closely with the wider school team to ensure consistency in our caring and inclusive approach.
