Literacy
This week we will be exploring arguments surrounding deforestation in more detail.
Can you remember what deforestation is?
What are the arguments against deforestation?
On the For and Against activity sheet, read each argument and decide if it is an argument for deforestation or against deforestation. Colour code the answers or write them into two lists in your book.
So, why is deforestation happening?
https://futureofworking.com/10-advantages-and-disadvantages-of-deforestation/
Have a read of the link above. Some of the language is a bit tricky but there is a lot more detail on why deforestation occurs, what advantages this brings to our society.
After you have read it, can you write one paragraph explaining why deforestation occurs?
Maths
You have already learnt about rounding decimals but today you will round amounts of money to the nearest pound. You will have to look at the pence to help you do this.
Remember, 1 – 49 will round down.
50 – 99 will round up.
So £3.28 will round down to £3.00
£1.86 will round up to £2.00
Complete the activity either sheet 1, 2 or 3 each getting harder as you go along. Next, try the challenge cards. How many can you complete?
PE Activity
Zumba for kids! There are 3 zumba videos to have a go at…. I think you’ll really enjoy the music!

Lesson 1– The Good Samaritan
The story of the Good Samaritan, as told by Jesus in one of the gospels of the New Testament.
A traveller is beaten up and robbed, and left for dead along the road. A priest comes by, but deliberately avoids the man. A lawyer also comes by, but he too avoids the injured. Finally, a Samaritan comes by, and he helps the injured man, in an act of mercy and compassion.
The Good Samaritan didn’t turn a blind eye when other needed help. So, just like him try to do an act of kindness to help someone else in these difficult times. There are lots of activities to choose from but always speak to an adult at home before you do one:

What acts of kindness have you done so far? I’ve helped others with food shopping and let older and disabled people in front of me in the supermarket queues 😊
