School Council Minutes

Tuesday 27th March 2018 - We met with Miss Hawkins who introduced us to our project. She told us about the GDPR law which is a very important law that will be starting on the 25th of May. She gave us our project which would be to inform the whole school all about the information which the school holds about us.

Friday 20th April 2018 - We had a meeting with Mrs Hossen in her office and she told us what the GDPR law means for us. This law protects all of the information that the school holds about us and makes sure it keeps us safe. Mrs Hossen showed us all of the information that the school has about us and where it is kept in the office. This made us realise how important it is to tell everyone in school about the law, but make sure we use our own words so that everyone understands what it is about.

Friday 4th May 2018 - We met in the ICT suite and began to create our presentations about GDPR. We split into pairs so that we could each cover one area of data.

  • Sienna and Kiera wrote about names and addresses
  • Amaia and Faith wrote about our educational needs
  • Tosin and Ethan wrote about attendence
  • Elliot and Anella wrote about our behaviour
  • Abigail and Janat wrote about our medical needs
  • Ruby and Diona wrote about our assessment data

Friday 11th May 2018 - Our PowerPoint was taking quite a while to make sure that we include all of the detail that we need so we carried this on for another week.

Friday 18th May 2018 - Our presentation was finally ready so we worked with Miss Conlon to make sure that we all agreed we had made sense and covered everything that Mrs Hossen wanted us to tell the rest of the children

Tuesday 22nd May - We practised our presentation and decided who would be saying which parts. We took home a print out of our presentation so that we knew what we were going to say.

Wednesday 23rd May - We used some of our lunchtime to practise for the assembly tomorrow so that we know what we will have to say.
