Spring 1 Big Question
'What makes a sound?'
We will be starting our new topic this week ‘What makes a sound?’ and we will begin by exploring all the different sounds we can make with our body, voice, instruments and objects we find i.e. banging sticks on the floor. We will also focus on sounds we can hear in the environment and go on lots of listening walks both indoors and outside.
Things you can do to support your child at home:
· Weekly chatter bag and home stars challenges linked to the topic
· Talk about the noises you can hear when walking to school, in the park or at the shops, encouraging your child to understanding the different between what you can hear and see.
· Reading stories with opportunities to make noises i.e. animal noises
