This half term we will be learning all about The Vikings! In History, We will be understanding where the Vikings fit within British History and exploring where they came from, artefacts and their invasions. In Science, we will be classifying and describing rocks and their formation. In DT, we will be using woodwork skills to create a moving Viking toy for young children using levers and linkages.
Our Literacy units this half term are Recounts and Quest Stories. We will be making cross-curricular links to The Vikings and reading How To Train Your Dragon. Within their writing, we will be focusing on the use of punctuation, correct grammar and Year 3/4 Spelling rules.
This half term, we will be learning about Place Value and the Number System. This will include exploring Roman Numerals, rounding to the nearest 10 and 100, ordering numbers and finding missing numbers in a number sequence.
Swimming - every Tuesday afternoon. Remember to bring your kit (swimming costume/tight shorts), a cap and towel in each week. Goggles are optional.
Running - The children will be running 1 mile twice a week. Please bring their PE kit in on a Monday and leave it in school all week.
Friday afternoon - Children have chosen their Friday afternoon activity for the first half term of Autumn and this will be starting from Week 2 until half term.
